Bsync

Delete your account

Applies to the Bsync app on iOS and Android  ·  Last updated: 26 August 2026

You can delete your Bsync account and its data yourself, at any time, from inside the app — you do not need our permission and you do not need to contact us. If you no longer have the app installed, use the email request option below and we will do it for you.

Option 1 — Delete it yourself in the app

  1. Open Bsync and sign in.
  2. Go to Settings (the gear beside the period chip on the Home screen).
  3. Tap Profile.
  4. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
  5. Type Delete to confirm.

Your account is deleted immediately.

Option 2 — Ask us to delete it

If you have lost access to the app or your device, email [email protected] with the subject line "Account deletion request", sent from the email address on the account so we can verify it is you.

We will confirm and complete the deletion within 30 days, and usually much sooner. We will not ask you for your password, and you should never send it to us.

What gets deleted

What is kept, and why

If you were linked with a partner, the expenses you recorded in your shared workspace are not deleted, and the nickname you used stays attached to them.

This is deliberate. Bsync is a shared record between two people. If deleting your account erased everything you had entered, your former partner's budgets, past pay cycles and reports would silently change — totals they had already relied on would stop adding up, with no explanation. So the shared history is frozen and preserved for them, and your partnership is marked as ended.

Everything personal to you is still deleted. What remains is the financial record itself, which belongs to both of you.

If you would prefer your entries to be removed, or your nickname replaced, email [email protected] and we will assess the request, weighing your rights against your former partner's interest in the integrity of their own records. Where you used Bsync solo, no one else has such an interest and we will delete the records outright.

Before you delete: cancel your subscription

Deleting your Bsync account does not cancel a paid subscription. Subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google, not by us, so they must be cancelled separately — otherwise you will keep being charged.

iPhone or iPad: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Bsync → Cancel Subscription.
Android: Play Store → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Bsync → Cancel subscription.

This cannot be undone

Deletion is permanent and irreversible. We have no way to restore a deleted account, and signing up again with the same email creates a brand new, empty account. If you want to keep a copy of your data, export it first — Pro subscribers can export expenses and budgets as a spreadsheet or PDF from Settings → Export, and anyone can request an export by emailing [email protected] before deleting.

Full detail on retention periods is in our Privacy Policy.
